My name is Ali Taha Brown
I’m a 25-year-old professional consultant, international athlete, podcast host and member of the Southend United consortium.
I’ve lived, studied, worked and played sport all over the world. I attended one of the world’s leading universities for politics, am trusted to advise some of the world’s largest companies and I have captained the Jordanian national rugby team.
But Southend is home
Two years ago, my family helped preserve a central pillar of our community when we rescued Southend United Football Club. That fight reinforced something I’ve always believed; when you care about something, you do everything in your power to make it better.
I care deeply about this city and I feel let down by how we are governed nationally and locally. The next few years will represent a crossroads moment for the future of our country and I don’t want to be a backseat driver in that debate.
I want to change my community, city and country for the better. Standing for office is how I intend to do that.
